Second World War Monument

The Second World War Monument is a monument for the soldiers of the World War II in Juliana. The monument is situated in the outside of Pisona. Originally they called it the Partisans Monument and it was made in 1955 by the communist government. The monument is very big and has lots of stone and concrete.

In 1982 it was given the new name to also include the soldiers of the Kingdom of Juliana that died defending Juliana in 1941. In 1995, the 50th anniversary of the end of the war, the government engraved the names of 935 soldiers that were killed in the war, 1250 civilian people that died, and a big name for the unknown people that died (that says UNKNOWN).
